our rubber heads with dreams

fit to make us fly:

there was a boy in my Kindergarten class

who wanted to be an albatross

he said 71% of our world is water

but we miss out on seeing all of it

because we cannot fly

aspiration over perspiration

we are less continent than air

and we miss out on seeing all of ourselves

because we cannot fly

the boy breathes helium

and crosses his fingers

but he will never know where the sky is
